What we keep, for how long, and who else touches it. Last updated October 27, 2026.
What we keep, and why
When you buy a template we keep three things: the email address you gave at checkout, what you typed into the template, and the order record itself (which template, the price, the date, the two files we made for you). We keep them for one year from the purchase, because that is how long your download link works. When the year is up, the files and what you typed are deleted. The order record stays, without them, because tax law asks us to keep a record of sales.
Browsing the site and downloading a free template keeps nothing about you at all. There is no account and no password.
If you have bought something, the My downloads page is the way back to it. You type the email address you paid with, we send that address a link, and the link lists its orders. Nothing new is kept to do this: the list is read from the order records above. After you open the link, your own browser remembers you for 30 days, and one click on that page makes it forget.
If you bought on Etsy and entered your Etsy order number on our page for Etsy orders, that number is kept with the order and deleted with it.
If you join the email list, we send one email with the paper set to the address you typed, and that is all that happens until you open one of its three files. Opening one is how you confirm the address; only then is it added to the list, which holds the address and nothing else. An address that never opens a file is never added. The list gets one new template a month, every one of those emails has a link at the foot to leave, and leaving removes you from every email we send.
What we do not keep
Your card. Payment happens on Stripe's page, and Stripe holds the card details under its own privacy policy. We see that a payment succeeded, the email address, and the last part of the order, and that is all.
Who else touches it
A few services run parts of the site, and each one sees only what its job needs. Vercel hosts the site. Supabase stores the order records and the finished files. Stripe takes the payment. Resend sends the receipt email and, if you joined it, holds the email list. Cloudflare renders the PDF from your text and runs the small check that keeps bots off the forms; that check loads only when you reach for the signup field or press Write it for me. Anthropic drafts the wording when you press that button on a field that has it; it is sent the field's brief, what is in the field now, and what the wording is about (a certificate's title and course, a birthday's age), never a name or an address, and nothing is sent until you press. Google Analytics and Pinterest measure visits, and only if you said yes to the cookie question. None of these companies gets your data for their own use, and we do not sell or share it with anyone else.
Cookies and counting
The first time you visit, a bar at the foot of the page asks one question: may we count your visit? If you say yes, two outside tools load. Google Analytics counts visits and shows us which pages people read. The Pinterest tag tells us when a visit or a purchase began with one of our pins, so we know which pins are worth making. Both set cookies to tell one visit from another. For the same reason, this site keeps a random number in your browser and gives it to the Pinterest tag. The number is made when you say yes, and it says nothing about who you are. Neither is given your name or your email address. The address of your order page holds the key to your files, so it is taken out of the address bar before either tool can see it.
If you say no, or never answer, neither tool loads and no cookie is set. The site works exactly the same either way. Your answer is kept in your browser, not with us, and "Cookie choices" at the foot of every page lets you change it. Taking back a yes clears the cookies those tools set and that number.
The site uses your browser's own storage for a few small things that never leave your device: the customizer saves what you type so a closed tab does not lose your work, it keeps your business name, logo and contact details so the next business template you open starts with them, and it keeps the answer to the question above. "Start over" in a business template clears those details too.
Deleting it sooner
To come off the list, use the link at the foot of any email from it, or write to the address below and we will remove you by hand.
If you want your order data gone before the year is up, reply to your receipt, or write to hello@artisanpdfstudio.com with the order number, and we will delete the files and what you typed. Your download link stops working when we do, so download first.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything we already hold stays under the terms it was collected under.
