A birthday invitation is the piece of paper a seven-year-old carries to school in a backpack, and most of the free ones look like the clip art they are made of. This one is set in type: the name and the age are the largest things on the card, the date is written out in full so nobody has to decode a number, and the rest is a short list, time, where, and how to say yes. Two cards print on one sheet and one cut across the middle makes them, which is the fastest way to get twenty invitations out of a home printer.
Each card reads top to bottom. "You're invited", then the name and the age together on one line, then your one line of wording, cake and games and balloons or whatever the party is. Then When, Time and Where, each labeled, with the address under the venue in smaller type. Then the RSVP line in the accent color, with the name and number to reply to and the date to reply by.
The customizer refuses a name or a line that does not fit the card. Twenty-four characters fill the name line at full size, and every other line has its limit, so the invitation never prints with the venue cut off at the border. The age is a number, one to a hundred and twenty, set in the accent color beside the name.
Six color themes: the Studio red by default, a blush, a sage, a navy, a gilt for the milestone birthdays, and light ink for the batch of thirty that goes through the home printer. The card has a single-rule border so it looks finished once it is cut, and it keeps a half inch from the sheet's edges so a home printer cannot crop it.
Print at 100%, not fit to page, on cardstock if you have it: 65 lb cover, about 176 gsm, goes through most home printers and stands up on a fridge. Cut along the dashed line with a paper cutter or a ruler and a knife. The free version is this design with the sample party, in the Studio theme, on Letter, with a small credit line at the foot of the sheet. The paid version carries the name, the age, your date, place and words, all six themes, and comes back in Letter and A4 from one purchase, with a link that works for a year.
How many invitations per sheet?
Two, the same card twice, with one cut across the middle marked in the margins. Twenty invitations is ten sheets.
What size is each card?
Half a sheet: 8.5 by 5.5 inches on Letter, or A5 on A4, less the margin. It fits a standard 6 by 9 envelope, or an A5 one.
Can I write my own line?
Yes, up to 110 characters under the name, and the RSVP line is yours too. The sample lines are there to be replaced.
What should I print it on?
Cardstock if you have it: 65 lb cover, about 176 gsm, goes through most home printers. Print at 100%, not fit to page, then cut along the dashed line.
Is there a photo?
Not on this one. The card is all type, which is why it prints well on any printer and cuts clean.
Is there a subscription?
