Place Card Template
Tent place cards, six to a sheet: paste your guest list and every name gets its own card, with a line for the occasion and a sprig or a rule above the name, in Letter and A4.
Free: one theme and a small credit line at the foot, on Letter paper. On A4 paper instead.
Each paid file is made once, with what you typed, and its link works for a year. A set or the pass gives three makes of each template. Paid once, nothing renews.
One new template a month.
Your download has started. The paper set is yours free too: lined, graph and dot grid, with a name and date line at the top.
- 1 page
- Letter and A4
- 8 themes, one of them light-ink
- Fonts: Newsreader, Inter Tight
- Personal and small-business use
- Print at 100%, not "fit to page", or the margins move. How.
- This one wants card stock, not copier paper. Which paper.
- Letter or A4? Which paper you have.
- More than one card to a sheet. Cutting them apart cleanly.
A place card has one job: to tell someone where to sit, from a step away, in a room where everyone is talking. So the name is the biggest thing on the card, set in Newsreader italic at 20 points, and nothing competes with it but a small sprig or a rule above it and, if you want one, a short line under it for the occasion.
Paste your guest list, one name per line, and the customizer makes a card for each name, six to a sheet. Eight guests is two sheets; a hundred and twenty is twenty. The spare places on the last sheet print with the ornament and no name, so the cousin nobody told you about still gets a card that matches the others, in your own handwriting.
Each card is a tent. The lower half is the front. The upper half is the back, printed upside down, so that once the card is folded and standing the name reads the right way from the other side of the table too. For a head table or a row along a wall, turn the back off and it prints blank.
The sheet is cut three times, once down the middle and twice across, along the marks at its edges. Then each card folds in half at the dotted ticks. The cards run to the paper's own edges, so there is no strip to trim and throw away. Each one is 4.25 by 3.67 inches flat and stands 1.83 inches tall; on A4 it is 105 by 99 millimeters and stands 49.5.
Every name is held to twenty-four characters, and the customizer also measures each one on its card. A name that will not fit is named under the list and the button waits, so you can shorten it or use an initial before you pay, not after you print.
The themes match the wedding invitation, the reply card and the menu in this drawer. Kraft is made for kraft cardstock, which suits a Thanksgiving table: the PDF carries only the brown ink and your paper does the rest. Light ink is there for a proof on copier paper.
Print at 100%, not fit to page, on cardstock between 65 lb and 110 lb cover. Score each fold before you fold it: run an empty ballpoint pen along a ruler on the fold line and the card bends clean instead of cracking. The free version is this sheet with six sample names, in the Gilt theme, on Letter or A4, with a small credit line at the top. The paid version prints your whole list, with your line and your ornament, in every theme, and comes back in Letter and A4 from one purchase, with a link that works for a year.
How many cards fit on a sheet?
Six, two across and three down. Twelve guests is two sheets, and the most a list takes, a hundred and twenty names, is twenty.
How do I put in my guest list?
Copy the column of names from a spreadsheet or your notes and paste it into the box. Each line becomes a card, and blank lines are skipped.
What size is each card?
4.25 by 3.67 inches flat, folding to 4.25 by 1.83. On A4, 105 by 99 millimeters, folding to 105 by 49.5.
Does the name show from both sides?
Yes, unless you turn it off. The back carries the name upside down, so it reads the right way once the card is folded.
What paper should I use?
Cardstock between 65 lb and 110 lb cover, white or cream. For the Kraft theme, kraft cardstock; the file has no background, only the ink.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay once for the file. There is nothing to cancel.
