Volunteer coordinators, parish councils, PTAs, team leads and event organizers hand these out, usually to someone who did not ask for anything. So this one is drawn more like a letter than a diploma: upright, set from the left, your organization across the top like a letterhead, and the name large enough to read across a room. A long name breaks onto a second line instead of shrinking.
Your organization sits at the head, with a logo above it if you have one. Then the title, which says Appreciation unless you change it, "presented to", the name, a short rule, and your wording, up to three lines saying what the thanks are for in your words. The reason sits under that in italic: years of service, a season of volunteering, a project carried, a retirement. At the foot, the signatures are stacked on the left, one or two with the date under them, and a drawn seal with up to twelve characters inside it sits beside them, on or off with one switch.
The customizer refuses anything that does not fit. Twenty-six characters of name go on one line or two, the title gets two lines and the wording three, and anything longer is flagged before you pay, so the download waits until it fits.
Three frames: Classic is a fine rule down the left margin with a heavy stroke at its head. Modern is a solid band down the left edge. Plain has neither, for paper with a border of its own. The color themes include a gilt for the ones that get framed and a light ink for a stack that goes through the office printer.
Print at 100%, not fit to page, on something heavier than copier paper: 65 lb cover stock, about 176 gsm, goes through most home printers and feels like a certificate in the hand. It prints upright, on Letter or A4. The free version is this design with the sample name and organization, in the Ledger theme, with a small credit line at the foot. The paid version carries the real name, your title and wording, your signatures, every theme and all three frames, and comes back in Letter and A4 from one purchase, with a link that works for a year.
What if the name is too long?
A long name breaks onto a second line instead of shrinking, and the customizer tells you if it would need a third. Twenty-six characters is the limit, which takes in most full names; shorten a middle name to an initial if yours does not fit.
Can I change the words?
Yes. The title can say Thanks, Recognition or anything else in up to 36 characters, and "Certificate of" above it can change too. Under the name you get up to 140 characters of wording, two lines, saying what the thanks are for. The sample lines are there to be replaced.
Does it have a seal?
A drawn seal with a ring of dots, up to twelve characters inside it, on or off with one switch. No clip art anywhere on the page.
Can I make one for every name on a list?
Yes. Turn on the class list, paste up to 40 names, one per line, and you get one PDF with a page for each name and everything else the same. The list is $12, however many names are on it. Every name is checked against the name line before you pay.
Is the free version usable?
It is the same design with the sample name and a small credit line, so it is good for seeing it on paper. A real certificate needs the real name, which is the paid version.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay once for the file. There is nothing to cancel.
